Itinerary

Day 0 : Negombo (Arrival & Rest)

Arriving at Katunayake airport, you will be transferred to the hotel where you can enjoy the interesting coastal town of Negombo. As the first exercise, you will visit the fishing village and return to rest. Overnight stay in Negombo.

Day 1 : Kalpitiya​

Through the populous areas of the Negombo City, you will make an easy drive towards the Northern part of the country up to Chilaw. On the way, Most of the tourists prefer seeing fish market by the sides of the road. Passing through fishing villages you might see catamarans and traditional fishermen dragging fishnets in the seashore. Next activities are planned to maximize opportunities within a brief period diverting into an undiscovered and unspoiled Kalpitiya peninsula where you will have a rest in an eco-friendly cabana with refreshments. In Kalpitiya there are seasonal optional activities available such as windsurfing, kitesurfing, snorkeling, diving, fun fishing and sea bathing. Rest at Kalpitiya overnight.

Day 2 : Anuradhapuraya

From Kalpitiya, you will make an easy drive to Anuradhapura, one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka, famous for its well-preserved ruins of an ancient Sri Lankan civilization. You will visit huge dagobas and also the Sri Maha Bodhi (a right-wing branch from the historical Sri Maha Bodhi at Buddha Gaya in India under which Lord Buddha attained Enlightenment). Also while on road you will see many ancient reservoirs built by kings to harvest Anuradhapura.

Continuing the adventure, you arrive at Sri Lanka’s most famous landmark, Sigiriya Rock, rising 370m above the jungle is an ancient fortress surrounded by extensive gardens. Sigiriya is world famous of its frescoes, mirror wall and lion’s paw. You will drive around the Sigiriya rock and nearby Sigiriya village.  As a optional activity you can enjoy the jeep safari in Kaudulla or Minneriya National parks, and also a special elephant ride across Habarana village. As the next activity you will visit Dambulla Cave Temple which has fascinating series of caves filled with beautiful Buddhist statues and paintings. Overnight stay at hotel in Sigiriya.

Day 3 : Polonnaruwa

Stretching over rolling grassland, Polonnaruwa’s ruined palaces and dagobas provide a fascinating insight into a past reign of glory. Dating to the 11th century, Polonnaruwa replaced Anuradhapura as Sri Lanka’s ruling city after a devastating invasion by invaders from south India. It reached its height in the 12th century. The most famous of Polonnaruwa’s rulers, King Parakramabahu I, created the vast Parakrama Samudra ( the Sea of Parakrama) which remains one of the finest examples of Sri Lanka’s skill at water management. We stay overnight at Polonnaruwa Ancient city.

Day 4 : Kandy

From Polonnaruwa you will drive to Kandy via Riverston (Knuckles Mountain Range). In kandy you will visit first “Arthur’s seat” where you can perceive the territory beneath in the bird’s eye view including the Temple of Tooth. Most tourists prefer enjoying lunch or sip a beer nearby restaurant. Next we lead you to the Tooth Relic Temple which is supposed to be the most precious place of Buddhist people. Then you will have the opportunity to enjoy shopping in Kandy city and to walk around the Kandy lake in the evening. Overnight stay in Kandy.

Day 5 : Negombo / Departure

On the last day, you will be guided back to Negombo / Colombo Airport as of your choice.
