Ratnapura Tour

In to the City of Gems

‘The city of gems’ holds its fame for producing the world’s best rubies and sapphires. History says the king Solomon also procured a great ruby from Serendib (Sri Lanka’s old name). Also Marko Polo has wrote about the gems of Ratnapura and it is believed that Sinbad’s visit to the mountains of Serendib, refers to Ratnapura in Sri Lanka.
